The Warfighter Endowment enhances the traditional 47-month cadet experience through West Point’s Margin of Excellence, providing the Commandant of Cadets with flexible resources to support distinctive military leader development opportunities beyond the standard curriculum. Through immersive experiences with operational units and Army commands, as well as hands-on exposure to emerging technologies and modern warfighting systems, cadets gain the perspective, adaptability, and practical skills needed to lead soldiers and succeed in an increasingly complex and rapidly evolving operational environment.
In addition to the Brigade Tactical Department, the four directorates under the Commandant’s command are the Department of Physical Education, Department of Military Instruction, Directorate of Cadet Activities, and the Simon Center for the Professional Military Ethic.
