West Point Skeet & Trap

For nearly 90 years, the West Point Skeet & Trap Team has developed exceptional marksmen and leaders as America’s oldest continuously-operating collegiate shotgun team. Founded in 1938 to train cadets in the aerial gunnery that would define World War II, the team now leads the Army’s emerging counter-drone shotgun research and training efforts—ensuring soldiers are prepared for the demands of the 21st-century battlefield.

To maintain this proud heritage as the Army’s leading experts in shotgun use and one of America’s top collegiate shooting teams, a 100% donor-funded project will rebuild and modernize the shooting fields at Range 10.  By replacing crumbling infrastructure, addressing safety hazards, and expanding training capacity by building three universal skeet & trap fields plus a 5-stand sporting clays field, this project will establish West Point as home to the premier collegiate clay target complex in the United States.
